14/03/25- This week in Year 5

Date: 14th Mar 2025 @ 8:14am

We have had a fantastic week in Year 5 this week. The children have started exploring the fire which damaged Notre-Dame cathedral in order to write a newspaper report on the incident next week. We have been interested by the news and have been building our research and vocabulary and have been practicing our use of direct and reported speech.

In Geography, we have been using our 'Marvellous Maps' skills from last half term to develop our maps skills and to progress our konwledge of France and Europe for our Geography topic on France this half term. We have identified where France is on a map of Europe and the countries surrounding it and now we have looked within the country itself at the regions which make up France.

Finally, we have enjoyed our British Science Week learning on the theme "Change and Adapt" Please ask your children about the experiments they have completed in school and what they have learnt.

Have a restful and peaceful weekend and we're looking forward to seeing you again for another great week on Monday.
