Welcome to Year 1- Class 4

Our Teachers

This year, the staff in Year 1 are:

• Ms Savage- Class 3
• Ms Chowdhery- Class 4

Our Year 1 teachers are supported in class by Mrs Wilson, Mrs Bradburn, Mrs Mayall and Mrs Hartley. 

Online Learning 

All children have a login to Purple Mash. Homework will often be set on these websites.  To keep children safe online they have been taught to keep their passwords and logins safe from others.

Phonics Screening Check

At the end of Year 1 all children will take the national, statutory Phonics Screening Check.  Your child's teacher will keep you updated on your child's progress and how you can support them.

Reading Champions 

Your child will be bringing their reading book home in their book bag every night.  Please read with them as often as you can.  If your child reads at least 3 times a week, they will earn a ‘Reading Champion’ sticker and will work towards a termly reward with all of the Reading Champions across Greenhill Academy!
