🌟 Year 4 Learning Blog 🌟

This week in Year 4, we've been diving into some exciting new topics across our subjects!

πŸ“š English – Last Stop on Market Street
We’ve been exploring the beautiful story Last Stop on Market Street, thinking deeply about the characters and their journey. We’re working towards writing our own diary entries from the perspective of CJ, capturing his thoughts and feelings as he travels through the city with his Nana. It’s helping us build empathy and understand how to write with emotion and detail.

πŸ”’ Maths – Place Value & Reasoning
In Maths, we’ve been strengthening our understanding of place value—learning how numbers are built and how we can break them apart. We’ve also been developing our reasoning skills by explaining our thinking and solving problems in different ways. It’s been great to see everyone becoming more confident mathematicians!

⚑ Science – Electricity & Energy
Our new Science topic is all about electricity! We’ve started exploring how energy is made and the different ways we can generate it—from batteries to power stations, and even renewable sources like wind and solar. We’re excited to start experimenting and learning how circuits work!

We’re proud of all the hard work Year 4 has been doing—keep it up!
