Class Blog Week Ending 12.6.26

Date: 13th Jun 2026 @ 8:59pm

This week in Year 4, we have been busy learning lots of exciting new things across the curriculum!

In computing, the children have been developing their coding skills. They practised giving clear instructions and used a simple program to make shapes. The children showed great perseverance when coding and were proud when their program worked successfully.

In maths, we have been focusing on multiplication. The children have been practising their times tables and learning how to solve multiplication problems using different strategies, such as the grid method. They worked hard to explain their thinking and apply their knowledge to word problems.

In English, the children created fantastic character descriptions based on Vikings. They used powerful adjectives and descriptive phrases to describe appearance, personality and clothing. The children thought carefully about how to make their writing engaging for the reader, and some descriptions were very dramatic and exciting!

In science, we explored vibrations. The children learned that sounds are made when objects vibrate. We investigated how vibrations can travel through different materials and discussed how this helps us hear sounds. The children asked thoughtful questions and enjoyed making links to everyday experiences.

Well done, Year 4, for another brilliant week of learning. Keep up the hard work!
