Year 4 Learning Update

This week, Year 4 have been working hard and showing fantastic learning habits across the curriculum.

📚 Reading

We have continued building our reading stamina by enjoying a range of fiction and non‑fiction books. Children have been practising using inference skills, making predictions, and discussing vocabulary. We are also focusing on reading regularly at home to help develop confidence and fluency.

✖️ Times Tables

In maths, we have been strengthening our times tables knowledge. We’ve used games, quick-fire quizzes, and mental strategies to help recall facts up to 12 × 12. Knowing these facts securely helps us in so many areas of maths, and Year 4 are getting quicker every day!

✏️ Spellings

Our spelling work this week included practising our weekly spelling list, learning new spelling patterns, and using our words in sentences. We have been focusing on sounding out tricky words, using spelling strategies, and checking our work carefully.

Year 4 have shown brilliant effort—keep it up!
