🌟 Welcome Back, Year 4! 🌟

 It’s been wonderful to see everyone return with big smiles, positive attitudes, and a real eagerness to learn. What a fantastic start!

There is so much to look forward to this term, and we’re already off to a great beginning.

In Maths, we’ve been diving deeper into place value, making sure we understand how numbers are built and what each digit represents. We’ve also started exploring something brand new for many of us: negative numbers!

We’ve been learning how numbers can go below zero, just like temperatures in winter or the levels on a lift. The children have enjoyed comparing, ordering, and investigating the patterns we can find when numbers move into the negatives. Great perseverance, Year 4!

In English, we have begun using The Story Leaf to inspire our imagination and spark our creativity. Each leaf reveals a moment, an image, or an idea that helps us build a story—piece by piece.

We’ve particularly focused on writing a setting descriptions, using powerful adjectives, expanded noun phrases, and our senses to bring places to life.
