Class Blog Week Ending 8.5.26

Date: 6th May 2026 @ 7:32pm

This Week’s Learning Blog for year 4

This week we have been busy learning lots of exciting new things across different subjects.

In maths, we have been learning about coordinates. We practised reading and plotting points on a grid using the x‑axis and y‑axis. We used coordinates to find locations and describe positions, which helped us develop our accuracy and problem‑solving skills.

In English, we worked on planning and writing diary entries. We learned how to write in the first person, use past tense, and include feelings and thoughts. We planned our ideas carefully before writing to make our diary entries interesting and detailed.

In history, we explored Roman artefacts and discussed what they can tell us about life in the past. We looked at objects such as armour, pottery, and shoes, and thought about how historians use them as evidence. We also learned about Julius Caesar, his role in Roman history, and why he is still remembered today.

It’s been a great week of learning, and we are looking forward to building on these skills next week!
