Learning in Class 7
Date: 12th Mar 2025 @ 3:11pm
This week in Class 7 we celebrated British Science Week, it's the perfect time to explore the wonders of nature right in our own classrooms and gardens! Science is all around us, and one of the most exciting ways to connect with it is by planting and growing our own food. This year, we’re focusing on a hands-on activity that’s perfect for students of all ages: deseeding and planting tomato seeds!
Tomatoes are not only delicious and healthy, but they are also a fantastic way to engage with biology, sustainability, and the science behind plant growth. Growing tomatoes from seed is a great learning experience that connects students to the natural world and shows how tiny seeds can transform into the food we enjoy every day.
This activity is an ideal way to bring science to life during British Science Week. Not only does it promote environmental awareness, but it also provides a fantastic opportunity for students to learn about plant biology, photosynthesis, and the lifecycle of a plant—all while fostering a sense of achievement as they watch their plants grow!
We had the best afternoon ever!
