🌟 Nursery Autumn 1 Blog – β€œMe and My World” 🌟

Date: 23rd Oct 2025 @ 8:16am

What an incredible first half term we’ve had in Nursery! It’s hard to believe how much the children have grown in just a few short weeks — they’ve made new friends, learned new routines, and taken huge developmental steps in their learning and confidence.

Our topic this term was ‘Me and My World’, where we explored what makes us special, our families, and the people who help us feel safe and loved. The children have done an amazing job settling into Nursery life and showing kindness to one another as they learn, play, and grow together. πŸ’›

One of our favourite projects this term has been our All About Me boxes — thank you so much to all the families who took part! The children loved decorating their boxes and proudly sharing their treasures, drawings, photographs and cherrished memories from home. It was wonderful to learn more about what makes each of our Nursery children unique.

We also had the exciting news that our school will be taking part in the REAL Project, which will give families new opportunities to explore early literacy, mark-making, and a love for reading together. We can’t wait to see how this continues to grow next term!

Our local walk to Alexandra Park was another highlight — the children were so excited to explore their local community and spot familiar places on the way. This experience has been the talk of the classroom ever since, and it couldn’t have happened without our amazing parent volunteers — thank you for joining us!

In the final week of term, we have also been learning through ‘The Colour Monster Goes’, focusing on the pink colour monster, which represents love. It has been so heartwarming listening to the children talk about who and what they love — from family and friends to their favourite toys and pets! πŸ’• These conversations have encouraged empathy, self-awareness, and a strong sense of belonging within our Nursery family.

We have also loved celebrating special events this term, including Diwali and Halloween, where the children enjoyed dressing up, dancing, and exploring different traditions and celebrations from around the world. 🌍✨

A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your support this term — whether it’s helping with homework, reading stories at home, or joining our trips and events, you play such an important part in your child’s journey.

As we look ahead to next term, we’re excited to begin our new topic, Traditional Tales, where the children will dive into classic stories, exciting science experiments, and festive fun as we prepare for Christmas. πŸŽ„

Thank you again for being part of our Nursery family — it’s been a truly wonderful start to the year! 🌈

With love,
The Nursery Team πŸ’•
