This half term in Year 3
Date: 26th Mar 2026 @ 3:35pm
We have had a wonderful half term in Year 3, full of incredible learning, engaging and interactive trips and which culminated with the children putting on an INCREDIBLE year group assembly. Thank you so much to all of the parents and family members who came to watch, it was so rewarding to the children to have such a great turnout and we know how much it meant to each and every one of them to see your faces in the audience.
We have loved our 'Noble Nile' topic and have created wondeful outcomes such as Nile setting boxes, diagrams of the features of a River and developing an understanding of the importance of the River Nile to Ancient Egyptians. In Science, we have been inquisitive, investigating and exploring scientists during our 'Plants' topic and have investigated what a plant needs to survive and grow and compared how a plant would grow with one of these elements removed.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly our trip to Manchester Museum, where the children were all incredible ambassadors of the school and members of the public at the museum even commentated on how good the behaviour of Greenhill pupils was at the museum. The children explored exhibits on Ancient Egypt, China and the Middle East and Animals and Nature but the highlight for many was the vivarium with the chamelons, lizards and poisonous frogs.
Well done to everyone for you incredible hard work this term and we hope that you have a restful, peaceful 2 week break and come back for what promises to be an exciting Summer Term.
