This week in Pre-school...

Date: 1st Oct 2025 @ 10:14am

We are learning about body parts/self care over the next few weeks in pre-school. The story we are reading is called Head to Toe by Eric Carle and in the book there are lots of different body movements we can try such as turning your head like a penguin, clapping hands like a seal and stomping your feet like an elephant. The children have been showing us how they can copy the actions in class this week.

We have introduced vocabulary based on body parts and actions for example, pointing, clapping, turning, wiggling and kicking.

Activities have included painting pictures of ourselves, making playdough faces and looking in the mirror and naming what we see. We have been singing the following songs in class:

Heads, shoulders knees and toes

If you're happy and you know it

Open, shut them

Family fingers song.

If you would like further information about our activity planning and ideas please ask a member of staff.
