This Week In Reception (WB 09.06.25)

What a wonderful week we've had in Reception!

In English, we read the lovely story Fletcher and the Summer Show. The children really enjoyed learning about the characters—especially Fletcher the fox! We used our Phonics skills to describe Fletcher using some brilliant describing words. It was lovely to see the children sounding out and writing their ideas so confidently.

In Maths, we explored number bonds to 10. Using Numicon, we found lots of different ways to make 10 and then recorded our number sentences. The children were fantastic at working with their partners and explaining how they knew the numbers went together.

We also took some time this week to celebrate the special men in our lives as we prepared for Father’s Day. The children made beautiful, thoughtful cards and enjoyed sharing what makes their dads, grandads, and other family members so special.

As part of our Understanding the World, we began learning about the season of summer. We talked about how the weather changes, what we might wear, and the exciting activities we can enjoy during the sunny months.
