This Week in Reception (WB 14.9.26)

We have had another fantastic week of learning in class!

In Literacy, the children have continued exploring our class book, Our Class is a Family. We have been talking about what makes our class special and how we can support one another. The children have also enjoyed drawing self-portraits, carefully looking at their facial features and thinking about what makes them unique.

In Maths, we have continued learning through counting songs and activities. The children have been practising counting to 10 with confidence, joining in enthusiastically with familiar songs and using objects to support their counting skills.

In Knowledge and Understanding of the World (KUW), we have been learning about the artist Pablo Picasso and exploring his distinctive style of art. We looked at how Picasso used different colours and shapes to create portraits. Inspired by his work, the children created their own Picasso-style self-portraits, using a variety of bright colours and interesting shapes to produce some fantastic pieces of artwork.

We are very proud of the children's creativity, enthusiasm and hard work this week. Well done everyone!
