This Week in Reception (WB 17/11/25)
Date: 20th Nov 2025 @ 4:34pm
This week in Reception, we have had a fantastic time exploring stories, maths, and art!
Literacy:
We continued looking at the classic tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children enjoyed recapping the story and creating their own story maps to help retell it. It was wonderful to see their creativity and understanding of the sequence of events.

Maths:
In maths, we focused on comparing sizes. Using the characters from the story, we explored the concepts of big, medium, and small. The children had fun sorting and comparing objects and animals by size.

KUW:
We learned about the amazing artist Andy Goldsworthy, who creates beautiful art using natural resources. Inspired by his work, we went outdoors and collected natural materials to make our own creations. We experimented with patterns such as spirals and layers, just like Andy Goldsworthy does in his art.
It’s been a week full of creativity, exploration, and learning! We can’t wait to see what next week brings.
