We had another busy and exciting week in Reception, with lots of learning across all areas of the curriculum.
Literacy
In Literacy, we continued to explore the story Handa’s Hen. The children revisited the story and talked about the main events in order. They then created their own story maps, drawing pictures to represent different parts of the story. The children also had a go at labelling their pictures using their phonics knowledge, sounding out words carefully and having a go at writing independently. We were very impressed with their efforts!
Maths
In Maths, we continued our work on number bonds to 10. The children used a range of practical resources to help them identify and make different number bonds to 10. This hands-on approach supported their understanding and helped them to see how numbers can be split in different ways to make 10.
KUW
In KUW, we continued our learning about Africa. We talked about hot countries and what the weather is like there. The children also explored traditional African clothing, looking at the colours, patterns and materials used. This led to some great discussions and lots of curiosity from the children.
Well done to all the children for another week of brilliant learning and enthusiasm! 🌟
