This Week’s Learning- LRRH

It’s been another fantastic week in Reception, full of imagination, storytelling, and lots of counting fun!

Literacy
This week in Literacy, we have been diving into the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood. The children really enjoyed exploring the different characters in the story and discussing the key events that take place. We talked about the big bad wolf, the kind grandmother, and of course, Little Red Riding Hood herself!
To finish off the week, the children took part in a Story Whoosh – a fun and interactive way to act out the story together. They absolutely loved taking on different roles and bringing the story to life. There was lots of laughter, creativity, and great teamwork on display!

Maths
In Maths, we have been focusing on the concept of one more. The children have been using a variety of objects and practical resources to help them count one more than a given number. They are becoming more confident with this skill, and it's been lovely to see them using their counting fingers and thinking carefully as they worked.

We’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been with their learning this week. Well done, Reception! 🌟
