🌟 Year 1 Weekly Blog 🌟

We have had a wonderful week of learning in Year 1! 😊

📚 English

This week we have been reading You Choose and discussing what it means to make choices. The children worked in small groups to share which house they would choose and explain their reasons.  We have also been developing our oracy skills by listening carefully, sharing ideas and working together. 

🔢 Maths

In Maths, we have been recognising numbers to 20 and using counters to make different numbers. The children have enjoyed lots of practical counting activities. 

🗺️ Topic

We have been learning about our local area and discussing the different places we might find, including parks , shops , houses , mosques  and churches .

🧍 Science

In Science, we began our new topic on the human body and learned to identify and name different body parts. 

❤️ RE

In RE, we explored different symbols and discussed what it means to belong to a group or community.

👫 PSHE

We have been talking about the importance of rules and how they help to keep everyone safe and happy. 

💻 Computing

The children have been developing their basic iPad skills and learning how to use technology responsibly.

🏃 PE days for Class 3 and Class 4 are Wednesday and Thursday.

📖 Homework: Please read at home and remember to record this in your child's reading record.
