This week in Year 2...WB 09/02/26
Date: 11th Feb 2026 @ 11:51am
In English, the children have begun writing a non-chronlogical report all about India to go into our school library. They have been learning how to write clearly, organise facts, and use features such as headings and factual sentences. So far, they’ve researched and written about:
- Traditional Indian food
- Famous landmarks such as the Taj Mahal
- Traditional clothing and how it varies across regions
The children are becoming confident young researchers and are very proud of the facts they’ve gathered!
In Maths, Year 2 have been learning how to collect and present data. Together, the class created their own:
- Tally charts
- Tables
- Block diagrams
They gathered real data by voting on topics such as:
- Their favourite colour
- How they travel to school
- Their favourite sport
This hands‑on approach helped them see how numbers and information can be organised and compared — and they loved seeing the class results appear in colourful graphs.
