This week in Year 6 - WB 15.06.26

Date: 23rd Jun 2026 @ 11:30am

This week in Year 6, we became problem-solving detectives in Maths as we worked together to solve a mystery and uncover the thief! We carefully analysed clues, applied our knowledge of different methods, and used logical reasoning to eliminate suspects. It was fantastic to see everyone showing resilience and teamwork, especially when the challenges became more complex. We learned that, just like real detectives, success comes from thinking carefully, checking our work, and never giving up.

In English, we have begun exploring the incredible journey of Shackleton and Frank Wild aboard the Endurance. We are learning how to write informal letters, putting ourselves in Frank Wild’s position and imagining the challenges faced in Antarctica. This week, we have been planning our own letters and thinking about how to use emotive language to describe the harsh conditions, fear, and determination of the crew. We are excited to begin writing next week and bring our ideas to life!
