This week in Year 6 - WB 22.06.26
Date: 23rd Jun 2026 @ 11:32am
This week in Year 6, we continued to build our skills as problem-solving detectives in Maths, working collaboratively to tackle a range of challenging problems. We focused on explaining our thinking clearly, checking our answers, and using different strategies as a team. It was great to see everyone growing in confidence, supporting each other, and showing determination when faced with tricky questions. Our teamwork and reasoning skills are really developing, helping us become more independent and thoughtful mathematicians.
In English, we brought our learning to life by drafting, editing, and writing our own informal letters as Frank Wild. Using our knowledge of Shackleton’s expedition, we carefully included emotive language to capture the harsh conditions and powerful feelings experienced on the journey. We took time to improve our work through editing, focusing on making our descriptions vivid and engaging for the reader. The final letters were fantastic, showing creativity, empathy, and a real understanding of life aboard the Endurance. Well done, Year 6
