WB 12.10.26 - This week in year 2
Date: 16th Oct 2026 @ 8:10am
This week, we learned about Black History Month and a very special person called Mary Seacole.
Mary Seacole was a kind and brave nurse who helped soldiers when they were hurt and poorly. She cared for people, gave them medicine and worked hard to make them feel better. We learned how important her work was and why she is remembered today.
We also created some beautiful artwork inspired by Mary Seacole and her life. We worked carefully to make our pictures colourful and thoughtful.
Ask us what we know!
- Who was Mary Seacole?
- How did she help other people?
- Why is she remembered today?
- What did you include in your artwork?
- What is one interesting fact you learned about Mary Seacole?
We are proud of everything we have learned and enjoyed sharing our ideas through art! 🎨⭐
