w/c 11.05.2026 This week in Year 2!

We have had a great week in Year 2 and have all been working incredibly hard!

In English, we have been enjoying the story Grandma’s Seaside Bloomers. The children have loved getting to know the characters, and this week we focused on writing a character description. We especially enjoyed describing the strict Grandma, thinking carefully about her personality and how she behaves in the story.

In Maths, we have been learning all about fractions. We have been finding ¼, 2/4 and 3/4 of objects and amounts, using practical resources to help us understand. The children have shown fantastic effort and are becoming more confident with their fraction skills.

In Science, we have been learning about healthy lifestyles. We explored what makes a balanced meal and why it is important to keep our bodies healthy. The children shared some great ideas about healthy food choices.

We are all feeling excited for next week, which is the final week of term!
