w/c 15.01.2024 This week in Year 5!

We have had another exciting and busy week! 

 

During English we have be using our imagination and creativity to write an alternative ending to 'The Tadpole's Promise'. The were some very interesting endings, including a scientist studying the butterfly and the frog being electrocuted by an eel. 

 

In topic we have learnt more about rivers, explored the water cycle and developed our understanding of technical vocabulary. In art we have been focusing on our observation and drawing skills. 

 

French has focused on learning about the weather, which has seemed very apt this week, the children enjoyed learning key phrases and playing the card game snap to help practise their speaking skills. 

 

We have moved onto our 'Relationships' topic in PSHE, looking at what makes a good friend and how we can be good friends to others. 

 

The children have enjoyed starting their dodgeball topic in PE and are enjoying building on previous years skills in Gary's football sessions.
