Date: 19th Nov 2025 @ 9:40am
What an exciting week it’s been in Year 2!
We’ve been learning all about the Space Race—the incredible competition between nations to explore outer space. The children were amazed by the stories of astronauts and moon landings! To bring this learning to life, they designed and built their very own moon buggies in DT. Creativity and problem-solving were in full swing as they thought about wheels, axles, and how their buggies could move.
In Maths, we’ve been sharpening our subtraction skills. Using Dienes blocks and 100 squares, we explored different strategies to make subtraction easier and more visual. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow!
Our Science lessons took us on a journey through different habitats. The children learned about rainforests, deserts, and jungles, then created their own miniature habitats. They thought carefully about the animals and plants that live there and what makes each environment unique.
It’s been a week full of discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
