w/c 24.11.25 This week in Year 2!
Date: 28th Nov 2025 @ 8:38am
What a busy and exciting week we've had in Year2!
This week the children have absolutely loved designing and building their very own moon buggies! They explored different materials, thought carefully about strong structures and worked hard to create moving wheels.
Linked to this, the children became real-life NASA engineers as they wrote clear, step by step instructions on how to make a moon buggy for the next space mission. They focused on using time conjunctions, imperative verbs and adeverbs.
In Maths, we've been learning all about money. The children practised recognising coins and notes, making amounts and finding totals. They enjoyed solving real-life money challenges and completing a Kahoot quiz!
Upcoming events on Monday 1st December:
Parent Open Morning: we can't wait to welcome families into the classroom to see our learning in action. Please arrive at the main office for 9.15am where someone will meet you and bring you to the classrooms.
'The Snowman' trip: in the afternoon we will be walking to Queen Elizabeth Hall to enjoy a magical performance of the Snowman with a live orchestra. Please ensure the children have appropriate clothing for the weather.
