🌟 Year 4 Weekly Learning Blog 🌟

This week in Year 4, we have been busy learning lots of exciting new skills across the curriculum!

💻 Computing – Staying Safe Online

In Computing, we learnt about phishing. Phishing is when someone tries to trick people into sharing personal information online, such as passwords or addresses. We discussed how to spot suspicious emails and messages and learnt the importance of talking to a trusted adult if something online does not seem right. We worked hard to identify safe and unsafe online behaviours and became internet safety experts!

📚 English – Character Profiles

In English, we created detailed character profiles. We thought carefully about our characters' appearance. We used ambitious vocabulary and expanded noun phrases to make our character descriptions exciting for the reader. 

➕ Maths – Addition

In Maths, we focused on addition. We practised adding 4-digit numbers using formal written methods and applied our skills to solve a range of reasoning and problem-solving questions. We showed resilience when tackling challenging calculations and explained our mathematical thinking clearly.

✍️ Handwriting Revision

We have also been revising our handwriting. We concentrated on correct letter formation, consistent sizing and neat joins. The children worked extremely hard to improve their presentation and take pride in their work. It has been wonderful to see such progress in handwriting across the class.

⭐ Star Learners

A huge well done to everyone for showing our school values and working hard throughout the week. We are proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown by all members of Year 4.
