🌟 Year 1 Weekly Blog 🌟
What a fantastic and busy week we have had in Year 1!
This week we have been celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week, and the children have taken part in lots of wonderful activities to help us think about keeping our minds and bodies healthy. We enjoyed dance sessions, yoga, mindful breathing and mindful colouring. These activities helped us to relax, focus and feel calm.
One of our favourite activities was our Freddie Fit session! We had so much fun while learning about the importance of eating a variety of fruit and vegetables, getting enough sleep and exercising to keep our bodies strong and healthy.
It has also been Safer Internet Day. We have been learning about voice assistants and how they can be helpful in our homes. We also talked carefully about how to stay safe when using technology and who to ask for help if we are unsure about something online.
In English, we have been reading The King’s Pants — which made us giggle! We were very excited to write our own letters to King Charles. The children worked so hard on their writing and should feel very proud.
In Maths, we have been consolidating our learning on addition and subtraction. The children are becoming much more confident when solving number problems.
We were so proud during Parents’ Evening. The children loved sharing their hard work, and they were very happy with the lovely comments they received. Thank you to all our families for your continued support.
A special thank you as well for your support with our Fantastic Finishes — the marmalade sandwiches were absolutely delicious!
