Year 4's great week!

Date: 25th Jun 2021 @ 12:17pm

Year 4 have had another busy and fun filled week.

This week we have been busy learning about time, we have converted analogue into digital time and created our own school timetable. Why not test your childs knowledge of time at home?

For English this week the children have created factual booklets based on the Vikings, how amazing and informative they all were!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the upcoming sunshine.

Year 4's fantastic curriculum week!

Date: 11th Jun 2021 @ 2:59pm

Phase 3 were inspired by ’Time Travel’ for our ‘Out of this world Curriculum Week.’

This week we designed and created our own futuristic home and thought about what our life was like in the future. We then created short drama sketches where we lived in our future homes.

Wall-E was another one of our inspirations – we briefly watched a clip and discussed why mankind would abandon Earth in the future and how it could be prevented.

The children were also budding artists and created Vincent Van Gogh inspired paintings on different media such as paper and the iPads. How creative they all were!

It has been a great week and we can’t wait to get our own iPad’s to carry on with our exciting digital learning.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Khalil

What another lovely week it has been!

Date: 28th May 2021 @ 2:43pm

This week we have been busy learning all about weight and mass in Maths. Where the children have been estimating and weighing objects in the classroom and they have been converting units of measure also.

In English this week, we have focused on the Beowulf poem and then performed the poem to the rest of the class. The children used choral speaking and incorporated actions within their performances.

This term has been fantastic and the children have made lots of progress too!

Have a lovely half term break.

See you soon,

Mrs Khalil

Another week of super learning!

Date: 21st May 2021 @ 9:44am

Hello everyone,

I hope those celebrating Eid last week, had a wonderful time with their families.

This week we have been busy in Class 10 and have complete lots of learning. Our focus for maths this week was capacity; we looked at volume, compared capacity and converted units of measure.

Our focus for English this week was to write a newspaper report about the terrible tragedy, which unfolded in Lindisfarne in AD 793. The children produced some exceptional reports and gave a thorough recount of the barbaric attacks carried out by the Vikings.

Lastly, for our topic, we explored the Viking Invasion in more detail and the children wrote about the reasons why the Vikings invaded and settled on Anglo-Saxon lands. How informative they all were.

Take care and be safe,

Mrs Khalil

Date: 27th Nov 2020 @ 3:46pm

I would like to start this week's message with how proud I am of Class 10 who have worked really hard these past two weeks by completing all their assessments and showing great resilience whilst doing so. Well done Class 10!

For our writing this week the children wrote a narrative based on 'The Sword in the Stone.' It was a magical experience for all us all as they wrote in the perspective of the sword and these were absolutely amazing!

What an amazing end to the half term!

Date: 2nd Oct 2020 @ 8:35am

I would first like to start my message by stating how incredibly impressed I am with our parents this half term. You have displayed a strong commitment in ensuring that all the children in Class 10 and Greenhill have access to a full education at school - Thank you! The children have thoroughly enjoyed their time in school.

This term for topic we researched the rainforest, we really enjoyed learning about the different layers of the rainforest, the animals of the rainforest and the impact of deforestation – I think we may have some budding climate activist in the making!

For science we learned about teeth and digestion; the children thoroughly enjoyed writing fact files, which explained the process of digestion and an information leaflet about how to keep your teeth healthy and shiny. How informative they all were!

I cannot wait for next half term!

Stay Safe and take care.
