This week in class 3 we have been learning all about magnets and exploring the different materials that are magnetic and which are not.
We went around the classroom using magnets to look at which objects were attracted to the magnets.
We worked really hard to and had lots of fun! We found that an object must contain metal for it to be magnetic, but that not all metals are magnetic.

Digital lift off day in Class 3

Today class 3 took part in our fantastic digital lift off day. The children came dressed in all of their favourite colours, and learnt all about digital technology and how we use it at home and in school.
We got to watch some brilliant videos of different professionals who use digital technology in their jobs on a daily basis. The children then got the chance to create a job profile of them, as well as taking part in lots of different activities relating to those jobs, creating their own games, avatars and even designing their own houses.

Today was wear a hat day in class 3.
We were so impressed with all of the different hats that the children came in with, so imaginative and creative in lots of different ways.

This week we have been so excited to have all of Class 3 back in school.
Everyone has been working so hard this week, getting back into our routines and producing some super learning, that we have been so proud of.
This week we introduced our new class topic 'The Great Fire of London.' In Literacy we have been reading a story linked to our topic, where we made some super art work describing the setting of The Great Fire of London. Take a look at the photos below, showing some amazing examples of our learning.
I'm maths we have been re-capping our addition and subtraction work. Class 3 really impressed us with their knowledge of all of the different methods that they could remember, and they worked really hard to solve lots of different questions and maths problems.
This week we have also produced some beautiful Mother's Day cards ready for Sunday which we were really proud of. We hope all of our families have a lovely day together, and we can't wait for another super week next week!

This week in Class 3, it has been Christmas week.
Not only have we been making super reindeer hats, Christmas cards and lovely Christmas mats, but we have had a class party and watched the school nativity.
We have had so much fun this week getting in the Christmas spirit and getting ready for our 2 week holiday.
We hope everyone has a lovely relaxing break, and we can't wait to see you all again in the New year.

This week Class 3 have been getting ready for christmas by reading the story Little robin red vest. This is the second week that we have focused on this story, so we know the story inside out. Using lots of super time connectives and conjunctions we have been writing some amazing re-tells of the story, taking our time to order the animals and the different colours of their vests.
In keeping with the christmas spirit we have made out very own reindeer hats and performed both a reindeer dance and a special chirstmas poem. We cant wait for you to see our super performances!
Next week will be filled with lots of extra special chirstmas learning, and we can't wait to share all we have done with you at home!

Class 3 are so excited to be taking part in the linking project with one of our local schools, Mayfield primary. This week class 3 got the opportunity to learn a little bit more about their linking class and create some super learning to send them.
We first read the gorgeous story 'Incredible You' and thought about all of the reasons why are are so special and amazing in our own unique way. Then, we created some beautiful rainbow art work based on the story.
These stunning pieces of learning will be sent over to our linking class at Mayfield school to allow the children to learn a little bit more about our class.

This week we have been reading.... Percy the park keeper

This week in class 3 we have been reading the Percy the Park keeper story One snowy night.
The children got the chance to act out different scenes from within the book, pretending to be the different animals in the story. Take a look at some of our super freeze frames below.
We wrote some fantastic big writes, re-telling the story using super time connectives.
In maths we have been practicing telling time to the hour. The children made their very own split pin clocks and took turns testing their friends.

This week in Class 3 we continued looking at our science topic of seasons.
We started looking at Spring and all of the different things that happen during this season. We thought all about the weather, the new baby animals and the beautiful flowers that start to grow.
Linking with our art learning we made some beautiful spring flower drawings using designs inspired by the artist Georgia O' Keefe! Take a look at some examples of our amazing drawings below!

This week we have been making pancakes...

This week in Class 3 we have been reading the story Mr Wolfs pancakes. Class 3 got the chance to make their very own pancakes and have a taste using lots of delicious toppings.
We even wrote some super instructions to help others wanting to make some tasty pancakes.
On Friday we also got the chance to make some amazng hedgehog pictures using some Autumn leaves that we had collected ourselves!
Black History week - Mary Seacole

This week in Class 3 we only had two days to do our curriculum week learning, but we worked really hard in class, and had two fantastic days learning all about Mary Seacole for black history week.
Class 3 took part in lots of different activities and even became super doctors and nurses creating our own herbal remedies just like Mary Seacole, as well as producing some beautiful portraits of her.
We learnt lots of new super facts and wrote some brilliant sentences to describe her using lots of different adjectives. We were so impressed with all of the things that the children remembered. We can't wait to start our new topic next half term , learning all about another nurse - Florence Nightingale.
We hope class 3 have a lovely week off school, and we can't wait to see them when they return!

Class 3 Working hard at home this week!

This week Class 3 have had to be super learners working at home. We have been so impressed with the children getting on with their home learning packs and purple mash at home ,and so grateful to their lovely families who have been helping the children with their learning.
We know it is much tricker to stay focused at home, but you are doing a super job! Keep up the hard work!
We are so proud of you class 3, and we can't wait to see you on Thursday next week.
